Hunterdon County Bike to Work Week will be held from May 13-17, 2019. This year’s free event coincides with national Bike Month promoted by the League of American Bicyclists. Bike to Work Week promotes bicycling as a commute alternative. The free annual event provides commuters with a fun and engaging opportunity to leave their cars behind and bicycle to work or a transit facility instead. goHunterdon is accepting requests from municipalities to conduct free speed studies of local roads. Using a “Speed Sentry” unit, more commonly known as the “Your Speed Is” sign, goHunterdon will collect data on traffic volumes and motorist speed. More than 800 students at eighteen (18) Hunterdon middle schools have been busy learning about alternative energy and designing, building and testing solar powered model cars as part of the Hunterdon County Junior Solar Sprints education program coordinated by goHunterdon.
